For history week 2008 theme, ‘The water’s Edge’, Liverpool library presents the following collection of images representing the significance of the Georges River on the development of Liverpool.
The images are a collection of photos that relates to the various uses of the river from recreational use for residents to industrial purpose for local businesses, as well as serving as a concentration camp for internees during the war. All ten photographs illustrate the differing role the river served for the City of Liverpool.
